Friday 10-29-11
I came home and partially prepared myself for the weekend. Halloween weekend of course. On 10-30-2011 Saturday Stacy (fiance) and I spent the day taking care of the animals and wrapping up some odds and ends around the house. It was 5pm as we were getting ready for the Mckinney Ghost Walk. Normally I would pass up things like this but I got a sense of needing to go for this one.
On our way there we decided to stop and get some energy drinks and 1- 9v battery for IR. The cashier looks to me and says that'll be $6.66. I chuckle a lil out loud and Stacy explained to the guy that we were ghost hunters going to the Ghost Walk. The guy looked at us as if we were insane. Oh well back in the car.
As we reached our destination and got our wristbands. We met up with Clay, and Sterling. Shortly after we got our maps and headed to the old Mckinney Courthouse. There a team by the name of TEXPART were showing a video of some of their findings around Mckinney (my hometown). We were there for the first airing. About 5 min into recording the disc begins to Skip and that gltichy sound comes through the speakers. The speaker who was not wearing a microphone at all speaks up and says "The video didn't do this all afternoon. I didn't break it I swear!" There is a short silence followed by chuckles. One of the other members comes in and saves the day.
After the video one of the members for TEXPART comes up to me. (She's a medium) She cut through a whole crowd of people to walk up to me and say. "Things follow you." What?? I say. She repeats "Things follow you in a big big way." "Not in a bad way but they do follow you" I smile and say its probably because of all the research I do. I go on to explain to her about our team and our independent research on Project RSVP (Road side voice phenomenon). She got excited and said "Awesome!" She then asked me if I had an uncle pass away. I said yeah no this year but...She finishes my sentence "the year before" "Well he is helping you, in everything that you do" and he stands to your left.
Let's pause here for a moment. This isn't the first time that I have heard these exact words. Almost verbatim. I know now more than ever that my family helps me along, even during the times I make some not so great choices. I know they are there and If by some odd chance you can read this. I love you guys!
Back to the story shall we.
We make our way to a few other places recording here and there. We felt like rockstars because, I guess someone noticed us recording everywhere we went and the mothers and daughters hit me with a brick wall of questions about the paranormal. To which we all obliged happily. After downtown, we took Clay to Pecan Grove. I have been meaning to swing him by there because of all the EVP that I have captured there. This is the first time that I attempted DRV at a haunted location. I took the ghost box to 540 am. I asked if the spirits if they are from the cemetery. Quite shocking;y there was a response through the white noise. A man stated "We come from other places then are buried here!" a smart ass remark, but amazing none-the-less.
We went back to the magic shop for a grand finally ending, in which a magician set up something for the kids. Now comes the interesting stuff. We learned a lot about the history in Mckinney. I caught many EVP's some of which happened during the video.
When it began to glitch, the man said that he didn't break the system. A male voice came through the PA system and said "I Didn't Break!"
At the old jail, a story about Ed Stepp a man who hung himself intrigued me. I asked "Ed Stepp are you still here?" the response was "Yeah I'm here".
This is just a few of the things that I have reviewed. Hopefully more things will turn up after I am completed.
All in all it was a great night and Stacy and I had a lot of fun.
Thanks for reading everyone!
