I know it has been some time since my last blog posting and most likely for the better. There has been many changes at present for me, almost all of them for the better. One of the most recent things to happen to me is quite a unique experience and basically what keeps my drive going when it comes to the paranormal.
Lets walk back to two months ago. During one of our meetings Clay had told me about this book called Electronic Voices. It isn’t your run of the mill ghost hunters book. This book talks about a womans journey into a whole different direction of EVP collection. This is a journey unheard of to most ghost hunters. The journey of this woman begins in Galacia, Spain. Anabella Cardoso is the author, who talks about her first hand experiences with ITC (Instrumental Transcommunication). Those familiar with ITC are usually pretty well versed in the forms of either the ghost box, or The Video loop (Schreiber Method). There are however a variety of methods and a quick search on the internet will bring you to itcbridge.com. During reading about Ms Cardoso’s experiments and personal success, I became very interested in the subject. Mostly due to my belief that in the interest of science all avenues must be taken.
3 weeks into reading the book…….
I normally am not a slow reader by any means but, Life as it were happens haha. I began subtly by recording around the pond area on my property. This was the traditional means of EVP capture which is nothing more than a basic recorder. Now in the instance of EVP I have realized that one must find which recorder works for them. I have had a million recorders but the two work horses that I bring myself back to are; A sony ICD Stereo recorder, and An Olympus VN 4100. People could literally argue for days about which recorder is better than the other, but I have heard some of the best EVP’s on vintage Wire recorders.
Back to the initial recordings, I heard some pretty interesting EVP’s some of which sounded like very, very old spirits. One of them decided to give me their name which is Akim. After gaining some small form of contact, I decided that it was time to speak to the native American sounding spirits. On a simple 2-minute recording – I asked “Out of curiosity are you Native American?” the reply was clear as day “We are all native american here”. Needless to say something was willing to speak back .

This was a special day for me. In Mckinney, TX there is an event that happens on the weekend of the third Monday of every month. Tradesday here we come. In this venture I was on the search for vintage radio’s as I wanted to get the same basic setup that Ms Cardoso had in her home. I was almost about to give up, as for some odd reason when one goes looking for something it’s never there. I rounded my last corner and I see two old radios and an tape recorder. SUCCESS!!! How much I ask the man who looked as if he had spent the last forty years prepping himself for a horror film villain. He rubs the 2 day old bristles on his face and asks “What’s it worth to ya man?” I ponder for a moment because this is the point where one could make or break themselves in a deal. I replied with “Well considering it isn’t worth anything to you at present, otherwise you wouldn’t be eager to sell it.” “How’s $15.00 dollars sound?” He met my request with a look of disbelief for a second then, suddenly he gave that look that one gives when you walk up to a 5 dollar bill laying alone on the ground. “You have a deal sir.”
I get home and am overly excited at this point to have in my possession 2 vintage radios and a ghost box. Now my first experiment I tried the Jurgensen Wave – Which is tuning to around 1544-1550 am. It was hard to find an empty channel in the area as Texans are still believers in the AM transmission. I sit down and recorded myself asking questions for 5 minutes. I would ask a question and give about 15 sec for an adequate response time. Feeling as I may have heard something coming through I threw the recording onto Audacity and began listening in. I received a couple of responses but none that were groundbreaking. Still interested and remembering some of Ms Cardoso’s words that say everything with attempted DRV takes time. A few days later I decided sit down and do another 5 minute session. This time I went for the lower band of the radio and hit right around 540-550 AM. During this session I also placed my recorder further away, since the first recording almost blew my eardrums. This session felt more successful than the previous one. I decided to send a copy of the recording to Clay Coleman as his hearing for EVP is about as acute as a 8th tour Marine sniper. I realized this time around that after every question there was the faintest of responses but they were there. Then about 20 min into my review I noticed I had received an email. It was Clay with some good news. In his email he was excited to tell me that towards the end of my recording, I had spoken about how my intentions for DRV are true in nature and was looking for anyone who was willing to give me some guidance. Their uncanny response was “Our Intentions Are What is Beautiful.” WHOA!!!! Did I hear that correctly??? I played and replayed it over and over. It was true, and Clay was right, those words say quite a bit about everything in this phase of life.
Needless to say I was hooked. This is everything until the present moment. I will be conducting another session tonight maybe a lil longer than the last given the amount of success on the second go around. Tonights session will be around 10pm on 10-24-2011.
